Staff will work closely with existing school systems to ensure that youth attend school daily.  The program will expose participants to cultural and social events, as well as assist youth in developing self-esteem and motivation in making positive life choices.

What is Diversion East?

A program providing both intervention services to area youth and their families.  The program creates a safe environment for citizens of the community by ensuring that all participants of the program are supervised by adults trained in crisis intervention.

Who Is Eligible?

Youth 14 and under who have been arrested and taken to Shuman Detention Center can be referred to this program.

 

 

What Services Do You Typically Offer?

The program accepts referrals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Youth who have been arrested and taken to Shuman Youth Detention Center will be picked up by a staff person and transported home.  A family treatment plan shall be developed, which includes a nightly curfew.
