Denominational Connections

Leaders of Tomorrow was founded in 1987 by two African-American students at Woodland Hills High School.  Their goal was to create UNITY among black males in their school.  In 1989 females were given the opportunity to join.  Since it's inception, over 200 Woodland Hills School District students have received scholarships through this program.  Our Leaders of Tomorrow participants concentrate on issues such as the development of career and employment plans.  The year is highlighted by the annual A.N. Minney Awards Dinner, where educational and career scholarships are presented.

W
hat is Leaders of Tomorrow?

We assist young people in reaching their full career potential through positive peer support, networking, exposure to cultural and educational events, and contact with professional role models.  Our meetings feature a guest career speaker, and planning for events such as voter registration drives, food bank drives, children's festivals, and other community-enhancing events.

Who is Eligible?

Leaders of Tommorow is designed for young, motivated individuals ages 16-25.

What Services Do You Typically Offer?

We assist members in prepating resumes, provide transportation to job interviews, write letters of recommendation, and support members searching for employment.  We keep our college members informed about events back home, send them care packages, and sponsor social events during their breaks that provide a form of peer support.  Each year we sponsor an out of town career conference.
